Inspiring magazine covers
I like the serious expression of the subject walking along paved ground. The grayscale tone of the cover emphasizes the serious, dull (everyday-busy-life) tone. The expression shows a serious, busy tone, as if everything was normal. The subject is also balanced, in the center of the photo, which makes the informal environment seem like a usual day for this subject. Then the tone is intentionally broken by the flipping of the subject's upper torso, which creates the intended shocked, "what's-going-on" expression amongst viewers. By expressing this, the cover does exactly what the magazine company desires; it creates attention and interest, attracting public interest towards a magazine.

Write a 100-150 word critique of the portrait on the cover.

Mention what is communicated about the people in the portrait and how this is communicated.

You may consider composition, lighting, exposure etc.
