Anything you care about is a good essay topic as long as you  make readers get involve, empathize, and identify your stance.

Details draw readers in, generalizations keep them out.

• any facts used must be true to retain credibility 
• big, universal themes should narrow down to specific, personal examples. Specific, small issues should lead to a bigger generalization to relate such small topic towards many people. 
• write evocatively/descriptively.
